Castle Street Bistro sits in the heart of Kirkcudbright (the ‘artists’ town). We are a family owned bistro that takes pride in showcasing excellent ingredients from Dumfries and Galloway, with a main menu of simple, fresh dishes. Alongside this we have a takeaway or sit-in pizza menu – homemade 12” pizzas and daily pasta dishes.
Consistently rated in the top 2 places to eat in town and winner of the Dumfries & Galloway Restaurant of the Year we are proud of our reviews and grateful to our loyal customers. Our bistro is small, intimate and a little different to anywhere else you will eat whilst visiting this spectacular part of Scotland.

Our numbers are limited – we are the smallest restaurant in town, if you would like to visit us you will need to book in advance. Similarly, if you want to order a takeaway pizza please call us to book a slot for collection.

We have been in Kirkcudbright for 14 years in 2020. During this time we have been known as The Castle Restaurant – but are now Castle Street Bistro. Same owners and chef, the fantastic reviews are all ours.
We are the only restaurant in the area to be listed in Rough Guide to Scotland, Hidden Places of Scotland and Lonely Planet. We have won and made finalists for the Dumfries and Galloway restaurant of the year for the last 2 years.
